Magic and Spells

Magic is the art of causing an effect through the will without it being inherently a mechanism of scientific progress and this is the most important destinction, of which many wizards may not recognize, further while many wizards use the gods to perform the work it is not required and better left to the self if one is to unlock the higher realm of the gods.

For the reason of extensive complexity this first discussion on magic will be one where the subject matter is detailed but not completely fullfilled meaning only time will extend its details, the arts of magic vary from goal to goal and as a result the difference of each individual spell makes this topic difficult to fully describe and is an art none the less.

Their is a common form of magic which is using chance and the unlikely to be recognized advancement to it which is always less then chance for being of more then the solitary act of beleif and cause resulting from it. This difference forms the two forms known of magic to date.

As a result these two forms are called:

  • Mana: That force of potentials which when properly controlled forms the manifestation in its ability to do so, within the limitation solely of likelyhood and formation in accord.
  • Altar: That surrounding of works which when properly tuned allows both the manifestation and the use which in work creates the result, be it one of simple or complext methods.
And they are the two most important conventions for the use of wizardry, within this version which does not invoke the gods the same way and prefers power of self over the power of anothers effect, although the gods are still a part of this work. The two forms listed will now be shown in function during a typical spell:

If I desired a grimoir for my workings and lacked the access of either a story which sells texts or an ability to purchase a text for writing, I could far easier acquire a collection of paper and form the grimoir myself by encountering the chance of instruction and paper location within my limits. The difference is that I would form the text myself rather then purchase it as such.

This example is one of many and is not the full example of what can be done, for this one must select a divinity to better focus ones magic and thus one can select any being in existence outside the world to better know what exactly one can do, for example if we chose the spirit of wisdom then we would find that we have access to the following things:
  • One could gain knowledge of the chances in their environment and give them metaphysical property using phentals and work.
  • One can attain better understanding of what is occuring in the other worlds and how it effects this one through reflection of process.
  • One can attain more power over the elements through studying what effects science predicts that are manipulated by chance.
  • One can use the works created to effect others here or elsewhere and become a great wizard of the worlds around and in our own.
These can be complicated to understand and only time will tell if I can make them clearer then what it is today, these works allow the world to be manipulated and provide another alternative to just science.
